The Experimental Technologies Lab was created to give students at the HAWK Hildesheim the opportunity to shape the (technological) future. Innovation and progress in automation technology can be studied, experimented with and researched.

Equipment

The Experimental Technologies Lab is equipped with a WASP clay printer (with various attachments), a Universal Robots UR5e robotic arm (with various selfmade attachments), a Pfaff Duomatic 80 knitting machine, two Bambuu P1S 3D filament printers, and various small tools and computers.

Fields of experimentation

  • Operation/programming of applications
  • Possibilities and limits of using a robot arm
  • Creating new fields of interaction between man and machine
  • Insights into the role of the robot as an actor in the creative team
  • Facilitate access to modern technologies
  • Physical computing and prototyping
